This 9-day Vietnam group trip is designed for travelers who want to experience the country’s highlights. We’ll move from the energy of Ho Chi Minh City to the lantern-lit charm of Hoi An, enjoy coastal time in Da Nang, and then head north for Hanoi’s culture and one unforgettable night in Ninh Binh. Along the way, you’ll experience Vietnam’s most iconic scenery, including limestone karsts, river boat rides, and a dramatic viewpoint hike overlooking rice fields and jagged peaks. This trip balances guided experiences with free time, giving you structure without sacrificing flexibility, and is perfect for travelers who want variety, comfort, and an immersive introduction to Vietnam.

Optional Hà Giang Loop Extension (+$875 | +5 Days)

For travelers looking to take the adventure further, an optional 5-day Hà Giang Loop extension is available after the main trip. This add-on takes you deep into northern Vietnam’s most remote and spectacular region, known for mountain passes, winding roads, and unforgettable scenery. The extension includes transportation from Hanoi, guided loop experience, accommodations, and logistics throughout. This portion of the trip is more adventurous and a bit more physically demanding than the main itinerary, which is why it’s offered separately. Cost for the Hà Giang extension is $875 per person, adding five additional days to your journey.

Your Itinerary:

  • Once you land in Ho Chi Minh, you’ll be greeted at the airport and taken to the hotel via a private transfer. Your host, Jamie, will meet you at the hotel to get you settled and kick off the trip together.

    Once everyone’s arrived, that afternoon we’ll hit the streets for a food tour around town! This is the ultimate way to dive into the Vietnamese culture!

  • Spend the day exploring Ho Chi Minh City with a guided tour that dives into Vietnam’s history and daily life, including visits to the War Remnants Museum and the Cu Chi Tunnels. In the evening, we’ll head out on a guided food tour, sampling local dishes and experiencing the city’s vibrant street-food scene after dark.

  • Today we’ll fly from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang, then continue on to Hoi An. Once the sun goes down, we’ll explore Hoi An’s old town, known for its lantern-lit streets, riverside atmosphere, and lively night scene.

    Today is the perfect day to visit one of the many tailor shops to get custom clothes, shoes, etc made! Hoi an is famous for its inexpensive high quality custom clothing and shoes!

  • Today we'll explore the Marble Mountains, wandering through ancient caves, pagodas, and scenic viewpoints, including the famous Âm Phủ ("Hell") Cave. Afterward, we'll enjoy lunch before heading to the coconut forest for a fun basket boat ride through the peaceful waterways.

    The rest of the afternoon is yours to relax, explore, or enjoy the beach before we meet back up for dinner together, followed by drinks to end another unforgettable day in Vietnam.

  • Today we'll immerse ourselves in the culture of Hoi An with an authentic Vietnamese cooking class, where you'll learn to prepare some of the country's most iconic dishes using fresh local ingredients. After enjoying the meal we've created together, we'll explore the charming streets of Hoi An on a guided walking tour, discovering its colorful lantern-lined alleys, historic architecture, local markets, and hidden corners that make this UNESCO World Heritage town so special.

    The evening is yours to continue exploring, shop for custom clothing, relax at a riverside café, or simply soak in the magical atmosphere of Hoi An.

  • We’ll fly north to Hanoi and drive straight to Ninh Binh, stopping for lunch along the way. In the late afternoon, we’ll take on an optional scenic hike to a panoramic viewpoint overlooking rice fields and limestone karsts, timed to enjoy the views before sunset.

  • After breakfast, we’ll head out for a peaceful boat ride through Ninh Binh’s rivers and caves before lunch. From there, we’ll drive back to Hanoi and spend the afternoon and evening exploring the Old Quarter’s bustling streets, shops, and cafés.

  • This day is yours to enjoy Hanoi at your own pace. Wander the Old Quarter, visit temples or museums, relax at a café, book a massage, or simply soak up the city’s culture and food scene.

  • Depending on your travel plans, today will be a departure day for some travelers, while others may continue on with the optional extension. Airport transfers will be arranged to ensure a smooth and easy journey home.

    For those beginning the Ha Giang Loop, our transfer will arrive early morning to begin the adventure. We’ll make the long journey to the city of Ha Giang where we’ll stay the night to rest and prepare for the incredible 4 day adventure!

  • Get real to begin the the Ha Giang Loop, which takes us deep into Northern Vietnam’s most breathtaking landscapes. Think dramatic limestone mountains, winding cliffside roads, and the iconic Ma Pi Leng Pass overlooking the emerald Nho Que River canyon.

    Over four adventure-filled days, you’ll cruise through the mountains with an easy rider through jaw-dropping scenery, visit remote villages, enjoy authentic local meals, and stay in cozy mountain homestays. It’s raw, immersive, and hands down one of the most epic experiences in Vietnam.

    On Day 13 we’ll make our way back into town where we’ll catch the bus back to Hanoi and stay the night. We’ll rest that night so you can prepare for your international flights home.
